Photographs of three, identical, wooden pie charts that have been hand made to the specifications of a drawing made and used by the artist to illustrate an argument with her best mate (BM). They consist of seven wedges, 120mm x 35mm of varying degrees, in seven woods. Each segment represents a year between 1995 and 2001, with the varying angles denoting the level of affection assigned to that year.
The seven segments of the first pie have been separated and gifted to public houses in Chester with the understanding that they will be used as doorstops. The public houses were chosen based on the frequency that the artist visited them in her youth and served as a location for many of the stories associated with the argument. This intervention has been documented as a series of seven framed photographs of the doorstops in situ. The second pie is presented as a sculptural composition and is assembled in a formation that sits somewhere between being a pie chart and a set of building blocks. The third pie chart has been gifted to BM as a testament to their long-standing friendship and was given with the dedication: BM, I did wrong you once and I am sorry. No further public documentation of this facet of the work exists.
