One of the iconic elements of Baroque culture is undoubtedly the fountain. The city of Rome is full of them. Bernini, one of the greatest protagonists of the Baroque, was not only responsible for many of these theatrical fountains; he also laid the basis for cinema. The way Baroque Rome linked sculpture to movement and used the city as a stage can be seen as a prelude to the incredible early period of (Italian) cinema. The same can be said of the use of light in paintings of that time, especially in the work Caravaggio. The Fontana del Tritone is the main subject of Giro.
