Pull Back the Shade is a project by by Muzi Quawson (1978, London, England) about a young woman and her family and friends the artist has been following for some time. The scene is set in Woodstock. Romance and in particular the ideal of freedom connected with this famous place conflict with the problems with which the young adults are struggling. The images form a loose narrative of everyday life. Muzi Quawson documents not just the personal story, her images carry intensity larger than life turning the persons into characters from a motion picture.
The project resulted in a slide projection and a series of lightboxes.
